Dundee Wildcats Four New Blackbelts

So proud of our four new Blackbelts
I'm very happy to announce that Dundee Wildcats Taekwon Do Academy have four new 1st Degree Blackbelts.

Sean Bryceland, Mark Mitchell, Raymond Paterson and Paul Anders Robertson pictured with International Instructor and Examiner Gerry Cahill sat their degree test in front of a panel of two World Masters and four International Examiners at their Grading in Fife on Saturday.

The test was technically and physically exhausting and lasted four hours. The test consisted of a Physical Test, Patterns, Technical Sparring and Techniques, Self Defence, Take Downs, Releases, Groundwork, Knife Defence, Special Techniques and a Power Test using wood to be broken by hand and foot. Each had to submit a bound thesis describing their journey in Taekwon Do and answering fifteen questions covering many aspects of their Martial Art.

Each of the four acquitted himself extremely well and were all praised for their power and expertise. Their degree was conferred on them by Masters Canty and Swift later in the day at a packed seminar.

Congratulations to them all, very well done.

Word Championship Success...oh yessssss.

Triumphant Team Scotland

Centre Stage with Team GB

Alligator Dundee...yes its real and very very angry lol.

Exciting times for Dundee Wildcats Taekwon Do Students. After our amazing success at the British Championships in Kidderminster earlier this year 8 of our members were invited to be part of Team GB and to compete as team members at the prestigious USA World Championships being held in Orlando, Florida.

They competed in the team events for Team GB on the Saturday and as individuals for Team Scotland on the Sunday winning 28 medals over the two days, there are now 4 new World Champions in our Dojang. We won 7 Gold, 18 Silver and 3 Bronze....wow.

The competition was on foreign soil and it was fierce but fair and no prisoners were taken by any side but after the competition we were all friends. Dundee Wildcats are so proud of our colleagues, we knew they would do well but their success is unprecedented and to be honest phenomenal says Head Coach Unity Kane.

STF President Gerry Cahill is so proud of everyone of them. They worked so hard all year training for this competition and their efforts paid off bigtime. The Dojang motto is train hard, fight easy. This was proven conclusively in the USA. Praise came from all quarters and we have been invited back to compete in Texas next year. Watch this space.

Photo one is of the Team Scotland members.
Photo two is of us as members of Team GB.
Photo three is a photo of Alligator Dundee Gerry Cahill...and yes its real and very very scary and just a bit angry.

PS...classes are back to normal from Tuesday 19th and there's a Grading in September. It's good to be back.
